What Animal?
The morning sun had just begun to rise over the quiet forest when a small group of travelers noticed something unusual near the riverbank. In the distance, a strange animal stood half-hidden among the tall grass. From far away, it was difficult to tell exactly what it was. Its shape looked unfamiliar, and its movements were slow and careful. One traveler whispered, “What animal is that?”
As they watched more closely, the creature stepped forward into the golden sunlight. It had thick gray skin, large ears that gently flapped in the warm air, and a long trunk that swung from side to side. Suddenly, the answer became clear—it was an African Elephant.
The giant animal walked calmly toward the river, dipping its trunk into the water and spraying it across its back. Birds flew nearby, and the peaceful scene felt almost magical. The travelers were amazed by the quiet power and grace of the elephant. Even though it was enormous, it moved with surprising gentleness.
One young traveler laughed softly and said, “I couldn’t tell what animal it was at first, but now I see it’s one of the most incredible animals in the world.”
The group watched silently as the elephant continued its morning routine, drinking water and enjoying the cool river. In that moment, the simple question—what animal?—turned into a beautiful discovery of nature’s wonder and strength.
